What happens when too much arrives?

Nutrients support growth. Amount and place change the story.

Excess nutrients can fuel algal growth. When organic matter decomposes, oxygen can be depleted, making conditions difficult for fish and other aquatic life.

Some harmful blooms can also produce toxins. Low oxygen and toxic blooms are different problems; neither can be assessed from the beauty of a landscape.

The Track returns upstream to nutrient management and the land. Drinking-water testing is another branch, not a conclusion we can draw from an illustration of a river.
