Oranges are a notable source of vitamin C and also contribute water, fiber, folate, potassium, and naturally occurring plant compounds as part of the whole fruit.
Vitamin C supports normal collagen formation, antioxidant protection, iron absorption, immune function, and wound healing. These are normal body functions—not claims that oranges treat disease.
Choosing whole fruit can contribute to a varied, produce-rich eating pattern. Fiber and the fruit's physical structure distinguish a whole orange from many sweetened fruit drinks.
